About Me

My Story

Hello and welcome! I am Diana, but please call me Dee. I am an independent celebrant specialising in crafting meaningful ceremonies for life’s most significant moments. I have a genuine passion for bringing people together, and I am honoured to serve as a wedding, funeral, and family celebrant. If you want something traditional or a little more unusual or quirky, then I am here for you.

My work in the funeral industry and more so the healthcare sector, including the NHS, has given me vital experience in demanding, explosive, painful, and upsetting moments but sometimes equally uplifting settings. I have also studied drama for over 6 years, so I have the confidence to speak in public to conduct your ceremony.

I have attended many weddings but hadn’t attended a funeral until my early 20s. It was one of my close friends from university. It was a beautiful ceremony, but quite a stoic occasion and didn’t reflect him as the person I knew. As the years passed, I attended more family funerals, many of which I have personally felt could have done more to reflect the person’s life, my own parents included.

Many of my married friends wished they had more control over the words and development of their wedding ceremony, incorporating elements such as handfasting and unity sand. This made me research celebrant ceremonies and what they offer, finding myself more and more drawn to becoming a celebrant.

I live in Oldham with my husband, family, and an array of pets. I love watching football and have supported my team for far more blue moons than I would care to divulge. To unwind, I love archery; if I say so myself, I am quite the Maid Marian. Therefore, I would also come in very handy during a zombie apocalypse.
